Stamping is a processing method to obtain the desired shape and size by applying pressure to materials such as plates, strips, pipes and profiles by means of a punch and a die at room temperature to produce separation or plastic deformation of the materials. Stamping has two main categories according to process classification: separation (blanking) process; and forming process. In the actual production process, multiple processes are often applied to a set of dies to meet the more complex shape of the product. The stamping process of material from deformation to separation can be divided into three steps:
1. Elastic deformation stage: under the pressure of the convex die, the material is deformed by elastic compression, bending and deep drawing
2. Plastic deformation stage: After the elastic deformation stage, the convex die continues to press downward, and the stress in the material reaches the yield strength, and the material produces plastic shear deformation.
3. Fracture (separation) stage: when the stress near the convex die reaches the material destruction stress, the material will fracture.
Classification of stamping dies:
(1)According to the characteristics of the completed process, the die can be divided into: punching die (drop/separation die); deep drawing die; forming die, etc.
(2)According to the guide form of the die, the die can be divided into: guided die and unguided die
(3)According to the process content of the die, it can be divided into: single process die (engineering die), compound die, continuous die
After understanding these basic stamping die basics, we believe that we can be more comfortable in the future processing of stamping die parts and so on.
